A copper plate engraved map. Size: 10 3/4 inches X 13 inches to the plate marks Map Type: Atlas This is a very clean, superior copy with wide margins. Count Erik Dahlberg, a military man and engineer was born Stockholm, Sweden, and intensely studied mathematics, architecture, perspective and map drawing. He rose to the level of titled nobility due to his military abilities. In He was best known for compiling the impressive collection of drawings called Suecia Antiqua et Hodierna, or Ancient and Modern Sweden, from which this map is taken. The title of this map is translated "Map of the Nordic countries in the past". It illustrates Norway, Sweden, and Finland as well as the Baltic Sea. Major cities are identified.
