This is a superior copy, with strong engraving and vivid colors.

The map appeared in J.W. Monette’s History of the Discovery and Settlement of the Valley of the Mississippi... . This map displays pink colored new colonies in New England to yellow colored Spanish Florida and Texas (labeled "New Philippine") and green colored French "Province of Louisiana" west past the Mississippi river. The map was engraved by W.Kemble, who also engraved the Texas map in Kendall’s Narrative of the Texan Santa Fé Expedition.
