CURRIER & IVES
The firms "N. Currier" and "Currier & Ives" issued more than 7,000 different print titles during their history. Numerous reprints, copies and forgeries have been produced in the years since the firm closed, making Currier & Ives lithographs some of the most reproduced images in history.
Clipper Ship "Dreadnought"off Tuskar Light. Publisher: N. Currier, 1856. Large folio size. Image size 16 1/4 inches x 24 1/8 inches. The frame outside dimensions are 28 inches x 36 inches.
The Dreadnought made 31 roundtrips between New York and Liverpool during the years 1853 to 1864, but was lost by shipwreck in 1869.
