Volume I Plate 55 - The Outer Hypostyle of the Temple of Horus at Edfu (Pictorial Impression) ~ Of all the temples of ancient Egypt, the Temple of Horus is the most complete and best preserved because the temple had been almost completely buried inside a city mound, or "tell". The last remnants of the tell were removed in 2006 and the temple can now be seen as deigned for the first time in thousands of years.
